About
the workshops
Workshops are a forum for learning and sharing experiences,
techniques, technical details, lighting and the mechanics required for
making a photograph, but more importantly, my workshops are about finding
your creative soul and putting you into your art. As we explore the beauty
within, we'll learn how to work with models and others. We'll discuss
marketing ourselves in today's changing world with creative portfolios
for exhibition and commercial use. Digital or film, it doesn't have to
be either/or. As we explore new environments, we will learn to express
ourselves through photographs. Workshops are given in Tuscany, Provence,
Burgundy, California, as well as Maine Photographic Workshops, and Santa
Fe Photographic Workshops.
Visit Il Paradiso where you will live,
study and photograph in Tuscany, a landscape of beautiful
cypress, ancient monasteries, and people that embrace life.
The vines are sprouting and the green fields are a visual
feast, lightly kissed golden with new wheat and red poppies. We
will spend days in these rolling Tuscan hills outside of Buonconvento,
a 13th-century walled village 30 minutes south of Siena. We will be centrally
located near Etruscan ruins, natural thermal hot springs and a variety
of villages which offer a multitude of photographic opportunities. Memorable
meals will be prepared daily by our chef
at our workshop location, Il Paradiso di
Frazzina, a brunello vineyard situated
in the valley below Montalcino. The vintner
pipes music to the vines, creating a lovely
atmosphere for sharing a glass of wine
while lingering and photographing the sheep
returning in the late afternoon light.
